Snow Sculpture Competition
Come out and experience one of the Winter Carnival’s traditional events at Silver Star. The amazing snow sculptures will begin taking
shape at 10am Friday morning. This year’s theme “Dancing with Carnival” will without
doubt provide the teams an opportunity to mesmerize. If possible, visit Friday and
Saturday to witness the evolution of the sculptures. Definitely don’t miss the
awards ceremony and help us determine the “People’s Choice Award”. Judging begins at
10am Sunday with the Award Ceremony following at 11am.

An Evening with “The Legends”
An Evening with the Legends starring man of 100 voices Robert Larrabee performed at the Vernon Winter Carnival last year for the first time. The sold out show was a complete success receiving a standing ovation and the
second place prize for best new show. This year promises to be even better with a line up that will include impersonations not seen last year - Jerry Lee Lewis and his flaming piano, Elton John, Englebert Humperdinck, Jonny Cash, Hank Williams, and his famous musical notes western suite, along with all the other favourites like Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Garth

“Hot Air” Balloon Flag Grab
Balloonists from across North America have a
chance to compete for the Annual Flag Grab at
Swan Lake! The successful pilot to reach a hand-size Canadian Flag & grab the flag off the pole…wins. The rules insist that all competitors must launch their balloons from the perimeter
of the lake, fly across the lake, grab the flag and
fly a further 500 yards from the pole before landing.
